I love pulling my tarot card every single day and learning what the Universe has in store for me and my family. I have barely dipped my big toe into the wonder that is tarot. I usually find something I love and jump in with dozens of books, sign up for online classes, subscribe to podcasts, and collect magazines on the topic. But being a busy mama now, I don’t have time for all that. I haven’t been able to do the deep dive like I normally do and I love it. I thought I’d feel out of place and unsteady, but the cards have truly lead the way. You make it work. I don’t have all the time to research long, complicated spreads, but I do make time to pull cards every day and intuit what they’re trying to say before reaching for my informative booklet that came with the cards. Ideally when my kids are asleep for the night I’ll pour some tea, pull three cards to get in touch with my path, and then move on to work or my never-ending laundry pile. Whether it’s a big spread or a small spread the point is that it’s a part of my day and it works for me right now.

This is my life and I’ve got to utilize every blessed minute in it.

Sometimes I need a minute to collect myself after a tantrum over the age-old trauma of not finding the lovey my three year old routinely throws in the air and unsurprisingly cannot find when she remembers it exists. After a night of that, I definitely welcome a tarot unwind.

My Mama Tarot Plan:

When I’ve got 10 minutes…

This is when I have a smooth time helping my girls to sleep, I’ve already swept up the dried spaghetti and chopped up cucumber sticks from the kitchen floor while they read books in the den, and my laundry pile is heaped but not teetering…

My go to three card spread is:

  1. Where am I right now?
  2. Where am I going?
  3. What do I need to know to get there?

When I’ve got 2 minutes…

When my eyes have glazed over and I’ve been “keeping busy” by dusting the same spot for over a minute, or if I’m playing hide and seek with my overtired three year old and I’ve got a moment to “hide” in a locked closet a little too long…

My go to one card spread is:

  1. What could help me move forward right now?

When my children are teenagers and I’ve got the wherewithal to string 15 minutes to myself I’ll create a follow up post to this with my dream 12 month zodiac spread. Sounds enchanting, doesn’t it?

Love and light…
